Sr.Master Rousseau is owner and head instructor of Rousseau Taekwondo here in Alexandria. Rousseau has been training in Taekwondo for over 25 years.  Rousseau started her martial arts training in 1986, here in Alexandria where she earned her first degree black belt in 1988.  She continued training and earning more black belts the 7th degree in 2013.  Carol Rousseau was dubbed Master Instructor at the American Taekwondo Association Opening Ceremonies Friday, June 26, 2009, and Sr. Master 2014 in Little Rock, AR.  Rousseau is a certified instructor through the American Taekwondo Association.  January 1991, she purchased the Taekwondo School where she started her martial arts career and is still operating on England Airpark.  Rousseau has competed in many tournaments all over the United States and is a five time State Champion in Forms, Sparring, and Weapons.  Master Rousseau also has a Bachelor of Science degree and is a certified teacher in Health and Physical Education and a Master 's degree in Health Promotion from NSU, where she teaches beginner karate and self defense. Rousseau is certified in CPR/ First Aid, Virtus trained, PPCT Pressure Point Control Tactics, Joint Manipulation, Single Ssahng Jeol Bong (Nunchuckus), Double Ssahng Jeol Bong, Single Bahng Mahng Ee (stick), Double Bahng Mahng Ee, Jee Pahng Ee (cane), Jahng Bong - Mid Range (long staff), Jahng Bong - Long Range, Sam Dan Bong, Gum Do, and, Ssahng Nat (Kama).


Mr. Waters is a 4th Degree Black Belt, Level 2 Instructor. Stephen's been training in martial arts for fifteen years, also teaching Taekwondo since 2005. Mr. Waters is over both the Tiny Tiger Program for students of the ages 4 to 6 years old and the Karate for Kids Program ages 7-12. Being a Level 2 Tournament Judge, he enjoys judging on both regional and national levels. Stephen, also helps to assist with Bully Prevention & Safety Seminars at the local public schools and clubs, while also being the in-house I.T. guy, (hooking all the electronics up.)  In his spare time, Mr. Waters enjoys singing in rock band, & also traveling to work on movie/t.v. productions all across Louisiana.


Ms McNamara is our events coordinator a second degree black belt instructor trainee.  Melanie has been training for 10 years. Mel earned her first degree black belt February 2008. Ms McNamara enjoys competing in tournaments on the state as well as the national levels.  McNamara is a five time state champ in forms, sparring and weapons.


Ms. Guin is a 5th degree black belt, certified instructor, who began training in 1985. She has been teaching for over 20years and her training includes Bully Prevention, Spontaneous Knife Defense, in addition to a variety of other martial arts weapons. other specialty areas include womens self defense. Tiny Tigers, and Demo Team. She has a B.S. in Exercise Physiology, and currently works at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Cardiac Rehab. Other interests include painting, gardening and cooking.
